Residents of Lewisville interested in sprucing up their homes and communities can discover various funding options thanks to a free workshop hosted by Lewisville Neighborhood Services on December 17 at the Lewisville Grand Theater. The session starts at 6:30 p.m. and serves as a platform for learning and engaging with the processes that tap into the city's grant programs. Included in the city's offerings are the Property Enhancement Program, Love Your Block initiative, and the Neighborhood Enhancement Program, all of which are part of the broader vision entitled Lewisville 2025, aiming for "Diverse and Thriving Neighborhoods," a vision that can be fully perused on the City of Lewisville website.
The workshop promises to guide aspirants through the application process and unveil other countywide resources. The Property Enhancement Program offers a matching grant rebate for exterior home repairs and is open to all eligible applicants. However, certain projects might get the green light for a 50 percent matching grant, which peaks at a cap. Love Your Block presents residents with a $500 reimbursable mini-grant, fostering community bonds through neighborhood endeavors, like little libraries or shared gardening spaces. This fund is accessible throughout the year.
Another option for locals is the Neighborhood Enhancement Program, which offers matching grants up to $12,500. This can help neighborhood groups fund projects like adding entrance features and sign toppers, creating emergency response teams, or improving local parks—making the community more attractive and connected.
