It's that time of year again when sustainable disposal of Christmas trees becomes a priority for eco-conscious residents. This season, from Dec. 2 to Jan. 10, the people of Lewisville can easily recycle their holiday trees. According to an announcement by the City of Lewisville, live Christmas trees can be dropped off at Lewisville Lake Park, located at the intersection of Lake Park Road and Turtle Trail.
Before dropping their trees off at the collection site, residents should ensure their trees are free of decorations, nails, wires, ornaments, lights, and tinsel. Free mulch made from the recycled trees will be available for pickup between Dec. 26 and Jan. 31. Bring your own container and shovel to collect the mulch, which is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Sponsored by Keep Lewisville Beautiful and Lewisville Parks and Recreation, the program encourages residents to join this eco-friendly initiative.
