
Early Sunday morning, Loveland residents were shaken by a series of drive-by shootings that led to two arrests. The Loveland Emergency Communication Center received a distressing call shortly after 5 a.m. reporting a drive-by shooting in the 1000 block of East 5th Street near Sunnyside Park. A family member’s home was reportedly shot at, prompting a swift response from local authorities.
According to KDVR, police were alerted to another incident on the 1400 block of Platte Street, where a second individual reported hearing multiple gunshots. The caller wasn't certain if their house was struck but the sounds indicated possible gunfire. Loveland PD later stated that the incidents took place within a precise 30-minute window. A high-risk stop later resulted in the apprehension of the suspects.
As reported by Denver7, officers located the suspect vehicle on the west side of Loveland, in the 2300 block of Greeley Drive. After conducting a traffic stop, police detained two adults and a juvenile found in the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle unearthed a weapon, leading to further investigation.
According to 9News, the third individual in the vehicle was released without charges. Law enforcement officials stated that the suspects knew the intended victims, assuring the community that there was no ongoing threat following the arrests. The two remaining suspects now face charges of attempted first-degree murder, causing distress in a community that seeks tranquility in its suburban environment.
