A Loveland man, Andrew Kammerer, 33, stands accused of the murder of his 4-month-old daughter after she died from injuries sustained in what was initially reported as a fall. Upon arriving, first responders found the baby experiencing breathing issues, and she was rushed to Bethesda North Hospital, later transferred to Cincinnati Children's, where she was placed on life support. Following a tragic 12-hour fight for her life, the infant, identified as Evelyn Kammerer, succumbed to her injuries. Her death was followed by an autopsy, uncovering "substantial" brain hemorrhaging inconsistent with an accidental fall, as initially claimed. In a disturbing turn, Detectives also learned of a previously injured twin sister whose past serious injuries had not been reported, according to Local12.
The Hamilton County coroner officially identified the deceased as Evelyn Kammerer. Court records obtained by WLWT detail Andrew Kammerer's account, stating he was changing his daughter when she allegedly fell from the changing table. He admitted to picking the infant up, who was face down, and administering CPR while waiting for emergency services. Despite these efforts, an MRI and later autopsy showed extensive damage, pointing to a non-accidental cause.
Andrew Kammerer is set for a bond hearing and remains in custody at Clermont County Jail, confirmed by a post from The Enquirer.
