A man was arrested at a Danvers, Massachusetts mall theater yesterday after allegedly threatening moviegoers. According to NBC Boston, the suspect, 34-year-old Ryan Muldoon of Lynn, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, threats to commit a crime, and disturbing the peace. Police responded to the incident at AMC Liberty Tree Mall 20 around 3 p.m. and took Muldoon into custody without any weapons found on him.
The arrest led to a disruption during a weekend that saw the premieres of "Wicked" and "Gladiator II," both drawing crowds anticipating the holiday releases. Boston 25 News reported that Muldoon allegedly threatened at least two patrons in the theater. An onlooker shared a photo showing a scene painted with multiple police cruisers parked outside the venue as authorities responded to the call.
AMC is cooperating with Danvers police in their investigation. More details are expected after Muldoon's arraignment yesterday in Salem District Court.
