A tragic series of events unfolded on Walnut Grove Road this Wednesday, resulting in the death of a man following a two-vehicle crash in Memphis. According to Action News 5, the Memphis Police Department responded to the collision at the intersection of Walnut Grove and Farm Road at approximately 2:04 p.m.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition after the incident and was later pronounced dead, having succumbed to the injuries sustained. In the wake of the crash, all westbound lanes were closed, with authorities urging motorists to seek alternative routes, FOX13 Memphis reported the complete shutdown of westbound traffic in the area.
The nearby Regional One Health received the injured male victim swiftly after the incident, where, unfortunately, his fight for life ended. The crash, which occurred near Shelby Farms Park, prompted an MPD investigation that is currently ongoing, as they attempt to piece together the circumstances that led to this fatal outcome, added Local Memphis. In a statement obtained by Local Memphis, MPD conveyed through social media a traffic alert informing residents of the westbound lane closures.
