
Memphis was rocked by a fatal shooting early this morning after a verbal confrontation escalated in Midtown. Police were called to the intersection of Cleveland Street and Linden Avenue around 1 a.m., where two men had been arguing before the shooting, according to Action News 5.
According to details released by the Memphis Police Department on their X account, the victim was found dead at the scene, located at 322 S Cleveland. Descriptions from the police indicate that the suspect, a white male, fled the area on foot after the incident. A closer timeframe of the events was provided by FOX 13 Memphis, indicating that the call reporting the shooting came in just before 1:15 a.m., shortly after the confrontation. FOX13 also described the altercation as a shouting match between the two men.
