Tragedy struck in the Southwest Atlanta community as a man was fatally shot yesterday. According to the Atlanta Police Department, the incident occurred at 465 Glenn St. SW, where Atlanta Police Zone 3 officers found an adult male with gunshot wounds at around 11:00 a.m. Efforts to save the man's life were in vain, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by Grady EMS.
The preliminary investigation suggests that the shooter, identified only as a male suspect, confronted the man after having exited a vehicle and fired multiple shots. Fleeing the scene before the officers arrived, the suspect's identity and motives remain, as of currently, unknown. Homicide detectives have taken charge of the investigation in an attempt to unravel the details of this confrontation.
The Atlanta Police Department is seeking assistance and urging anyone with information to come forward. The victim's identity has not been released, pending next of kin notification.
