A 23-year-old man was shot in the West End today and is now in critical but stable condition, according to a release from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The young man, who has not been identified, sustained a gunshot wound to his back. He was transported to the hospital privately.
The victim has been uncooperative with law enforcement, providing inconsistent statements. He did, however, report that the incident occurred near the 3400 block of Arlington, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
