An early morning altercation at a gas station in Atlanta turned violent when a man was shot in the chest. The incident, which occurred at approximately 3:38 am at 180 Ponce De Leon, saw police arrive on the scene to find a male victim with a gunshot wound following a dispute with two female suspects, as reported in an official statement by the Atlanta Police Department.
Atlanta's Grady EMS swiftly responded, transporting the victim to a local hospital for treatment, the nature of his injuries and his current condition weren't disclosed by authorities at the time, what has been clear is that the altercation that escalated outside the gas station was serious enough to warrant gunfire. According to the preliminary investigation, the dispute that had begun inside spilled onto the street where it appears one of the females shot the victim. The suspects then fled the scene in their vehicle, reportedly firing additional shots at the victim as they departed, as detailed by the department's news release.
As of now, the suspects remain at large, and further details of the circumstances leading to the shooting have yet to be fully uncovered. Despite the early hour and potential scarcity of witnesses, the Atlanta Police Department is delving into the incident with hopes that surveillance footage and any remaining evidence will aid in apprehending the individuals responsible for the violent act.
