In a recent incident early yesterday, a 49-year-old man was shot in the foot outside of a bar in the 1300 block of St. Louis, as informed by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The events unfolded just before 1:00 a.m. when District 4 officers arrived on the scene to find a chaotic dispersal of patrons, many escaping in their vehicles from the potential danger.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was taken to a local hospital by private means and is now listed in stable condition, despite the abrupt violence that interrupted what might have been a night of revelry; according to the police report, he recounted being outside the bar, amidst a crowd, when the sound of gunshots punctured the air, followed by the sharp realization that he himself had been hit, although he was unable to identify the shooter or the direction of the shots.
