
A man was seriously injured in Bay Terraces neighborhood after losing control of his electric scooter, the San Diego Police Department reported. The 46-year-old rider was eastbound in the bike lane along the 7700 block of Skyline Drive yesterday morning when the incident occurred. Authorities, notified at approximately 11:55 AM, arrived at the scene to find the man had taken a fall.
According to the SDPD Watch Commander's Log, the victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment involving serious, potentially life-threatening injuries. However, in the wake of this event, it was ascertained that alcohol was not a contributing factor to his loss of control and subsequent injury. The SDPD Traffic Division is currently handling the investigation to understand the precise mechanics of the accident.
Officer D. O'Brien, the watch commander in charge, has called upon anyone with information regarding the incident to step forward.
