The Manchester, NH Police have confirmed the arrest of 24-year-old Michael Zifchak in connection with allegations of possessing child sexual abuse images. The arrest followed a month-long joint investigation involving the Manchester Police, the Merrimack County Sheriff's Department, and the NH ICAC Task Force, as reported by the Manchester NH Police.
The investigation started when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children noticed suspicious activity on a social media account. Law enforcement confirmed Zifchak was linked to the account and found explicit images of minors on his devices. He was arrested after a warrant was issued and turned himself in at the Manchester Police Department last Thursday. "Zifchak was charged with 8 Counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Images and 7 Counts of Certain Uses of Computer Services Prohibited," according to the Manchester NH Police on their Facebook page.
After Zifchak was taken into custody, he was granted a $2,500 cash bail, allowing him to await further proceedings outside of jail. The case against him is ongoing, and the legal process continues to address concerns related to digital platforms and personal devices, especially in cases involving serious accusations, as stated by the Manchester NH Police.
