Mankato authorities are on the lookout for four individuals involved in a street robbery that occurred in the early hours of last Saturday. According to a social media post by the City of Mankato, Minnesota Government, three men were walking along Monks Avenue around 1:42 a.m. when a car blocked their path and four masked suspects demanded money at gunpoint.
The perpetrators, still at large, fled the scene in a vehicle described potentially as a Kia Soul or Honda Element. The suspects, three of whom were reported to be black males and one a black female, are said to range in age from 16 to 20, as detailed by the City of Mankato, Minnesota Government. The distinguishing detail of one male wearing a red hoodie could aid in identification. Mankato’s Department of Public Safety is urging anyone with knowledge or footage of the crime to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
Details on the suspects' appearances have been sparse but clear: the males had a thin build ranging from 5'10" to 6'0" tall, clothed predominantly in dark colors, while the female was notably shorter, around 5'0", and similarly dressed in black.
In response to the incident, local residents are being asked to review any home security footage that could shed light on the suspects' identities or whereabouts. The vehicle in question, a darker colored, smaller box style SUV bearing a traditional white and blue MN license plate, may have been captured on nearby security systems, as per the City of Mankato, Minnesota Government. Anyone with relevant information is strongly encouraged to contact Mankato authorities at 507-387-8725.
