Mansfield, Texas, a city already celebrated for its livability, has now been officially recognized for its capacity to attract travelers, earning a new title as a Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community. An announcement from the City of Mansfield's municipal government detailed the designation, the sixth to be granted by Travel Texas in the program's first year. As an initiative by Visit Mansfield, the certification underscores a strategic commitment to expand tourism as a driver for economic growth and job creation and elevate the city's profile as a destination within Texas and beyond.
"Tourism is critical to both our local and state economies, supporting one in 11 jobs across Texas," said Governor Greg Abbott. Governor Abbott emphasized the significance of the tourism sector in a recent social media post by the City of Mansfield, stating that "Travelers to and within Texas generated more than $193.8 billion in economic impact and supported 1.3 million jobs across the state in 2023." He extended his congratulations to the city and encouraged other Texas communities to swiftly apply to earn the same recognition, subsequently deepening the impact of local tourism and job opportunities statewide.
This certification acknowledges Visit Mansfield's dedication to enhancing the city's appeal to visitors, focusing on many attractions within the community. Mansfield's allures range from an award-winning parks system to premier sports facilities and a distinctive blend of shopping and dining experiences that cater to varying tastes.
