Don't expect to bite into these crispy tempura-coated, cayenne and chili-pepper-spiced nuggets in Chicago just yet, though McDonald's suggests that could change saying, "You never know when they might be in the Windy City."
Bringing heat to their saver menu as well, Daily Mail reports the debut of McDonald's Chilli Double Cheeseburger across the UK and Ireland. This new burger, being hailed as 'could be special' by fans, loaded it with tantalizing jalapeños and a spicy hot sauce, is said to be already capturing the hearts of their South African customers in the past. Praised on social media, one user claimed about the Chilli Double Cheeseburger, "If McDonald's wants an image of how delicious their new Chilli Double Cheeseburger is, then here you go!"
McDonald's also reintroduced a heavyweight to their menu, the Double Big Mac Cheeseburger, not part of the saver menu but present in all of the UK stores. This towering burger consists of four beef patties, double the sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions on a sesame seed bun, a serious step up from your regular Big Mac. On another note, the McDonald's saver menu itself has seen an influx of nearly a dozen new items, including budget-friendly options from milkshakes to soft drinks, with prices starting at just £1.19. While the new burger is priced at a reasonable £2.49, promising to "tantalise taste buds without breaking the bank," it's clear the intention is to appeal to customers looking for a bargain along with a blast of flavor. However, reactions were mixed, as another user was less impressed, saying about the Chilli Double Cheeseburger, "Bet it's still bland though!" indicating that no matter how spicy McDonald's gets, it can't please everyone.
