A recent incident in Memphis resulted in three people, including two juveniles, being injured in a shooting. According to a report by Action News 5, the Memphis Police Department responded to the shooting on Ardmore Street near Frayser Boulevard at approximately 1:56 p.m.
The incident resulted in injuries to three individuals: a 14-year-old, another minor, and one adult. The adult, according to Fox13 Memphis, is in critical condition, and the 14-year-old's injuries were described as non-critical. Meanwhile, a young girl sustained a minor injury, as she was grazed by a bullet but refused medical treatment.
The shooting, as reported by WREG, was linked to an alleged theft that escalated. "They started jumping me, my grandad got them off me and that’s when we had went in the house," the grazed teenage girl stated. "And they, like, ran inside my grandma’s house and started shooting, like they shoot everywhere. Everybody just running everywhere, didn’t know where to go."
Aaron Truman, the father of one of the victims, provided details about the incident in the Frayser neighborhood. "My son – he was defending himself and then they decided to go up under the carport and started shooting inside the house, which is his grandmother’s," he told WREG. "Everybody got to defend themselves, this is Memphis. I am just tired of all the violence and they play victim but they house get shot up every week," Truman added.
The Memphis Police Department is investigating the shooting, with no arrests made so far.
