
Four Memphis-area high school football teams have reached the TSSAA state semifinals. Houston High School defeated Collierville 33-14 and will face undefeated Ravenwood next, as reported by Action News 5.
The Houston Mustangs aim to be the first Shelby County team to win back-to-back titles, but they’ll need to beat Ravenwood next week to reach that goal. Meanwhile, the Fairley Bulldogs, unbeaten at 12-0, defeated MBA 48-18 and will host Milan in a highly anticipated semifinal, according to Local Memphis.
On the 1A end of the spectrum, MASE carved out a decisive 42-0 victory against Union City, earning them a spot in the semifinals for the second time in three years. They are slated to play an undefeated McKenzie team next week, a contest that could potentially redefine the entire section.
The Melrose Golden Wildcats beat Dyer County 35-15, improving their record to 11-3. They’ll host Pearl Cohn, who also has a strong record. Meanwhile, Covington’s season ended with a 28-14 loss to Westview in Class 3A.
