On an early November morning, the quiet was shattered by the sound of theft, as two individuals pierced the sanctuary of local commerce. Action News 5 reports that Alex's Discount Liquor, a Memphis-based business, was burglarized last Friday, with an approximate damage and loss of goods valued at $50,000. The Memphis Police Department arrived on the scene following a distress call at around 5 a.m. to find that the perpetrators had forcibly carved an entrance to the building, engaging in a crude act of burglary.
WREG report surveillance footage shows two men, one wearing a dark face mask and a black hoodie with words and images, and the other dressed in similar dark clothing. They stole various brands of alcohol in what seems to be a planned theft. The suspects are still at large, but their descriptions have been released in hopes of their capture.
On their social media echoes the call for community vigilance, the Memphis Police Department entreated the public for assistance. "Anyone with information about this incident should call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH," the department stated, offering the possibility of a monetary incentive for tips leading to an arrest.
