The Metropolitan Police Department is on the lookout for a suspect reportedly involved in a late-night robbery in Northeast D.C. According to an official release from the department, the robbery took place in the early hours of last Thursday on the 4400 block of Benning Road.
Details provided by the MPD indicate that at about 12:24 am, officers from the Sixth District were called to respond to a robbery. A group of suspects had boldly moved behind the counter inside a store, demanded property from both the establishment and the individuals present, and then proceeded to flee the area.
Authorities are urging anyone who may be able to identify the suspect or has any information regarding the incident to immediately contact the police. The advisory explicitly asks individuals to refrain from taking any action on their own but instead suggests reaching out via a call to (202) 727-9099 or by texting a tip to the MPD's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. To encourage public assistance, the MPD has announced a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the successful arrest and indictment of the suspect or suspects involved in the Benning Road robbery.
