Miami residents can expect a mix of sun and clouds today, along with some wind and isolated showers. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s this morning, with the National Weather Service reporting that winds will increase this afternoon to 20 to 22 mph, with gusts reaching 29 mph.
Broward County is under a high surf advisory and rip current warning, with small craft advisories in effect for the Atlantic. The report states, "Highs today return to the mid-80s," and adds that each day this week is expected to be slightly more active than the previous one, according to NBC Miami.
Looking ahead, Wednesday is expected to be the wettest day of the week, with widespread tropical moisture and windy conditions as the system moves toward the Gulf. However, improvements are anticipated by the end of the week, with a drier weekend expected. Meanwhile, the region is monitoring what may become Tropical Storm Rafael, which has already triggered tropical storm warnings for Jamaica and is forecasted to become a hurricane before reaching western Cuba.
Watches and warnings are expected to expand as the disturbance currently known as Potential Tropical Cyclone 18 approaches the Gulf, with long-range forecasts keeping it west of Florida, as per the latest updates from NBC Miami.
