Milton's City Council will hold an important session tomorrow, focusing on purchasing new land for park development. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers and will be open to the public as well as streamed online. The agenda will include consent items, presentations, and new business important for the city's growth, according to an announcement from the Milton City website.
The council may approve several items, including routine facility maintenance and the purchase of property to enhance green spaces. The consent agenda features repairs by Better Baseball, Inc. aimed at improving the safety and longevity of sports facilities. It also includes a construction services agreement for a parking lot gate at the Milton Public Safety Complex, which aims to further secure essential city services.
The City Council meeting will also include a proclamation for Veterans Day, acknowledging the contributions of veterans and their impact on community values. Additionally, the agenda will cover subdivision plats and revisions, including a potential land expansion along Freemanville Road and recognition of the city's ownership of green space acquired through bond funds.
In new business, the council will discuss purchasing just over 3 acres on Deerfield Parkway for $750,000. This land will be combined with adjacent property previously acquired by the city to create an active park with public amenities and infrastructure. According to the Milton City website, impact fees will cover most of the purchase cost, demonstrating the city's strategy to effectively use existing funds while expanding community services.
