
A 7-year-old boy from DeKalb County who was believed to have been kidnapped by his father’s ex-girlfriend has been safely located. The child was returned to his grandmother's care after the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Diamond Dupree, saw news stories of the boy's disappearance, as reported by the Atlanta News First.
According to the reports from FOX 5 Atlanta, Dupree is not currently held by police but remains wanted on charges of kidnapping. Authorities were looking to safely return the 7-year-old to his family after he had last been seen on Oct. 25, near Cherokee Valley Drive in Lithonia. The suspect, Dupree, is described as being 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing roughly 117 pounds. While she may have previously been recognized by her blonde hair, she now has black or brown hair.
The DeKalb County Police Department continues to actively seek information on Dupree’s whereabouts. As the search goes on, they urge anyone with information to come forward, encouraging them to contact the police department directly or to call 911.
