Allen Ray Long, a 28-year-old Mohave County school employee, was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a child sexual exploitation investigation. According to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office, the probe into Long's activities started when a device belonging to Long was seized in September of 2024, as reported by Fox10 Phoenix
During the investigation, authorities discovered images classified as child sexual abuse material on the device in question. Following the preliminary findings, Long was immediately taken into custody. As the inquiry unfolds, detectives are coordinating with the Kingman Unified School District, where Long was a current employee, to ascertain whether any of the imaged minors are locally connected, as described in the case by the 12News report.
Long taught at Cerbat Elementary School within the Kingman Unified School District, a detail unveiled amidst the investigation and according to a phone interview with school superintendent Dr. Gretchen Dorner obtained by Fox10 Phoenix, Long, who joined the school in 2020, had just begun his tenure at Cerbat this year. Dr. Dorner assured that Long had passed a universal background check at the time of his hire, promptly terminating his employment following news of his arrest.
Adding to Long's educational background, he previously taught at Mount Tipton Elementary School, which was revealed by a statement on their Facebook page indicating a four-year employment period before his stint at Cerbat. Amidst the shock of the accusations, a letter disseminated to parents and gathered by Fox10 Phoenix made clear that Long is no longer associated with the school district owing to "serious allegations of criminal wrongdoing," albeit without specifying the allegations' nature.
Long is facing charges for sexual exploitation of a minor, and his case is still unfolding. The school district and local police are working together to find possible victims and determine the full extent of his alleged actions.
