
A fatal collision in Northeast El Paso claimed the life of one individual following an accident involving a motorcycle and a road vehicle on Friday afternoon. The El Paso Police Department's Special Traffic Investigation (STI) unit was called to the scene at the intersection of Dyer Street and Deer Avenue, as reported by KTSM.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., emergency services were dispatched to the location. Despite the quick response and their efforts, one person was transported to the hospital in serious condition where they later succumbed to their injuries as confirmed by El Paso Fire Department communications staff, as detailed by KVIA.
The investigation into the incident prompted disruptions in traffic flow. Law enforcement advised the public of likely detours and/or street closures as the STI conducted their inquiry into the cause of the tragic event, as noted by KFOX-TV. The aftermath of the crash saw both east- and westbound lanes on Dyer Street before Sun Valley closed for several hours, causing significant traffic delays before eventually reopening.
As of the latest updates, EPPD has not yet released the identity of the deceased, nor have they provided details on the cause of the crash.
