A tragic event unfolded in Socorro on Sunday when a motorcyclist was pronounced dead following an afternoon collision. According to KTSM, the incident occurred just before 1:45 p.m. near the intersection of Socorro Road and Lisa Diane Street.
While attempting to make a turn eastbound onto Socorro Road, a vehicle collided with a westbound motorcycle, according to the Socorro Police Department. The identity of the motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, has not yet been released. Tragically, the motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by KFOX-TV.
After the crash, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) announced that all lanes on Socorro Road at the intersection with Lisa Diane Road were closed, as detailed by KVIA.
