
A motorcyclist lost his life in a crash in Orangeville Township, Barry County, as confirmed by multiple sources. The incident occurred Sunday night at approximately 10:45 p.m. along Marsh Road, near the intersection of 7 Mile Road.
WOODTV reports that Michigan State Police troopers responded to the crash where they found a 31-year-old man from Plainwell who had been driving the motorcycle northbound before he lost control. The vehicle then veered off the road and crashed into a tree. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and was found not to have been wearing a helmet. Speed and alcohol are being considered to potentially have played a role in this fatal event.
Meanwhile, WKZO adds that the crash was reported to Michigan State Police from the Wayland Post and that the preliminary investigation has revealed the details of this incident. The identity of the deceased has not been released to the public, as officials are likely to still be in the process of notifying next of kin.
