On the evening of Friday, a shooting rattled the westbound lanes of I-94 near Moross in Detroit, leaving a vehicle punctured by gunfire. According to CBS News Detroit, the Michigan State Police were alerted about the incident after the Detroit Police Department detected gunshot sounds through their ShotSpotter technology.
Upon arriving at the scene, troopers discovered a vehicle on Moross Road, with two individuals inside, both miraculously unscathed despite the numerous bullet holes in their car. The assailants, believed to have opened fire from a separate moving vehicle on the freeway, were nowhere to be found. The freeway was closed temporarily, for the sake of the investigation, and to collect evidence including several shell casings found littered on the freeway, as FOX 2 Detroit reported.
This violent encounter has spurred an intense investigation as authorities are actively seeking any information that may lead to the identification and capture of the suspects involved. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and the search for clues continues. "Troopers are working to gather more information on the suspects involved and what occurred before the shooting," First Lieutenant Mike Shaw stated in an announcement obtained by audacy.
