San Francisco Police Department, along with several partner agencies, has made a significant arrest in the fight against narcotics trafficking in the Tenderloin District. A suspect, Kerlin Salgado-Ferrera, was taken into custody following an investigation and a subsequent foot chase on Wednesday, the San Francisco Police Department reported.
The joint efforts entailed contributions from the SFPD Narcotics Unit, the San Francisco Sheriff's Office, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), and the Army National Guard, who, throughout October, gathered enough evidence to secure a search warrant for Salgado-Ferrera’s property and vehicle. Salgado-Ferrera was spotted and apprehended in Lower Nob Hill after officers observed him discarding what was suspected to be narcotics. In the search of his vehicle and his Oakland residence located on the 1000 block of MacArthur Boulevard, authorities seized a trove of narcotics, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, suspected fentanyl pills, heroin, and over $6,000 in cash.
Despite this successful operation, the SFPD emphasizes that the investigation remains open and active. They appeal to the public for any information that could assist further, encouraging people to contact the SFPD at 1-415-575-4444 or by sending a text message starting with SFPD to TIP411.
