The Nashville community is seeking answers following the shooting of Demario Hill, a 22-year-old man who was fatally injured in a gunfire event yesterday evening. According to a statement by Nashville police, Hill was discovered inside a vehicle on Delmas Avenue, near the intersection with Gallatin Pike, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at approximately 10:10 p.m.
Authorities transported Hill to Skyline Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries earlier this morning. Initial investigations suggest the involvement of a possible drug deal gone awry between Hill and the suspects, who, at the time of the police statement, were described only as three black men. Post the incident, the suspects were seen fleeing in a blue Chevrolet pickup truck.
At present, detectives of the Homicide unit are piecing together the events that precipitated Hill's untimely death, urging the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the apprehension and charging of those responsible. Nashville.gov released a report stating, "Anyone with information about Hill’s murder is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463." The statement adds an incentive for potential informants, asserting that callers can remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
