
The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide in the Third District. The incident occurred on the 4500 block of Old Gentilly Road on Tuesday evening, as reported by the New Orleans Police Department.
At around 7:15 p.m., Third District officers responded to a shooting in the parking lot of a business. Upon arrival, they found a Hispanic male adult victim with gunshot wounds. EMS quickly transported him to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead several hours after the incident, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Investigators are looking into a possible armed robbery after a fatal shooting. Detectives believe the suspects approached the victim, shot him, and stole his cellphone and wallet. The victim's identity has not been confirmed yet, as it will be released after his family is notified. Detective Rayell Johnson is leading the investigation, and no further details have been shared with the public.
