
The New Orleans Police Department is currently conducting a homicide investigation following an incident that occurred today in the Seventh District. According to a press release from the New Orleans Police Department, officers responded to a call at around 8:25 a.m. in the 8200 block of South I-10 Service Road.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered an unresponsive adult male with a gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services were summoned and promptly arrived to sadly confirm the victim's death. New Orleans Police Department detectives are actively working to thoroughly identify the responsible individual(s) and to establish a motive for the crime. As of now, further details regarding the incident are limited.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office is set to perform an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and to formally identify the deceased. This information, once available, will be disclosed by the Coroner's Office.
