
Yesterday, the New Orleans Police Department apprehended a 13-year-old in connection to threats made against Audubon Gentilly School. The school is located on the 4700 block of Painters Street, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Information about the threats, which included an email and written statements, surfaced during a lockdown exercise at the school. The school's administration promptly initiated an investigation, soon after which they involved an New Orleans Police Department Third District school resource officer to help, the officer then identified the suspect and took him into custody, amidst concerns about violence toward the school and its students.
The unnamed juvenile was booked into the Juvenile Justice Intervention Center on one count of terrorizing. According to New Orleans Police Department, the individual's actions are regarded as an isolated incident and bear no connection to other school threat investigations currently underway.
