On October 21, North Attleboro Police quickly responded to gunfire at the Hampton Inn on 55 Draper Ave, where a man was found critically injured with a gunshot to the head. The incident left the community shaken by the violence.
According to a Facebook post by North Attleboro Police, following an investigation by local detectives and the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Unit, two suspects—27-year-olds Erikka Joseph and Joshua Montgomery of Attleboro—were arrested yesterday. The arrest warrants were tied to the shooting on October 21. A search of their home revealed a firearm, further implicating the couple.
Joseph and Montgomery are currently in custody awaiting a dangerousness hearing, facing serious charges in Attleboro District Court. The male victim, an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire, is expected to fully recover. However, this good news does little to lessen the impact of gun violence in a public space.
