In a noteworthy development within Multnomah County's criminal justice scene, the District Attorney's Office announced on Thursday that Jason Robert Steiner, 34, faced arraignment on multiple charges including murder, related to a fatal incident at La Mota dispensary in North Portland last month. Steiner, who was taken before Judge Shelley Russell, pleaded not guilty to all charges.
According to a press release by the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office, Steiner has been indicted on two counts of Murder in the First Degree, one count of Attempted Murder in the First Degree, and three counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
In today's legal system, an indictment suggests the prosecution's belief in an individual's culpability, but, it is essential to note that the accused stands innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office noted.
