The Oak Ridge Police Department is in mourning following the death of Lieutenant Marvell Moore, a long-serving member of the force. According to WVLT's report, Moore passed away due to complications from a recent medical procedure.

Having joined the department back in 2005, Moore was a respected figure in the law enforcement community. As per WATE, the department expressed their profound grief, "We are mourning the loss of ORPD Lieutenant Marvell Moore who died unexpectedly today from medical complications following a recent procedure. We extend our deepest condolences to Lt. Moore’s family and loved ones." Moore had been promoted to lieutenant in January of 2023, before which he served as the sergeant of the Criminal Investigations Division.

The sentiment was echoed across the Oak Ridge community, which remembered Moore for his dedication and service. "He was loved by so many," the ORPD remarked, as per WATE.
