
Early Sunday morning, a devastating chain-reaction crash on Loop 202 in Tempe resulted in the death of one person and left another with serious injuries. According to ABC15, the incident involved three vehicles and occurred in the westbound lanes near Scottsdale Road around 3 a.m.
The collision began when a white passenger vehicle struck a gray Honda SUV from behind. Before the wreckage could be cleared, a gray Audi passenger vehicle collided with the Honda. Consequently, a gray Ford passenger vehicle rammed into both cars, hitting two individuals who were standing outside their vehicles amidst the initial aftermath. The Arizona Department of Public Safety has confirmed these harrowing details of the event.
In the wake of this multi-vehicle collision, 55-year-old Rachel Marie Moss of Chandler was tragically pronounced dead. Another person sustained critical injuries during the third crash of this serious event.
