Neighboring parishes were also affected, with over 1,400 customers in Jefferson Parish and more than 600 in St. Charles experiencing power outages. As of 6:00 a.m., Entergy Louisiana reported over 5,000 residents and businesses without power, down from a peak of more than 8,000. Power outages affected local schools in St. John the Baptist Parish, leading to a 2-hour delay for students. Teachers and staff were asked to report to school as usual and await further instructions. At the peak of the outages, over 5,000 Entergy customers were without power.
