
The Pacifica Police Department reported a recent incident involving a suspected DUI collision. Pedro Jesus Bernabe-Vazquez, 28, was arrested after allegedly driving under the influence and crashing into a parked vehicle on Wednesday evening.
According to the social media post by the department, the collision took place on the 500 block of Oceana Boulevard at around 8:47 P.M., where officers found a Ford sedan that had collided with a BMW sedan, luckily without resulting in any injuries. The officers dispatched to the scene observed signs of alcohol intoxication in Bernabe-Vazquez, the sole occupant and driver of the Ford, prompting them to conduct a DUI investigation, which included Field Sobriety Tests (FSTs).
Upon conclusion of the tests, officers determined that Bernabe-Vazquez was indeed intoxicated while operating the vehicle, leading to his arrest on charges specified as 23152(A) CVC- DUI (Alcohol) and 23152(B) CVC- DUI Alcohol/>0.08 Percent. Following the arrest, Bernabe-Vazquez was transported to a local sobering facility and was released on a criminal citation.
