According to the Palo Alto Police Department News Release, a woman in her thirties was approached by a man while waiting for a bus around 7:30 p.m. The man asked for her assistance with translating a conversation, only to lead her to a secluded tree line where, revealing a knife clipped to his pants, he coerced her into compliance and sexually assaulted her.

In light of this attack, the Palo Alto Police Department has described the suspect as a slender black male in his thirties, seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black cargo pants, and a surgical-type mask at the time of the incident.

Police urge anyone with information about this traumatic incident to come forward.
