Phoenix’s community continues to seek justice for the unsolved murder of David Denogean, who was tragically shot and killed at the age of 30 on November 25, 2022, while walking his dog near 12th Street and Bethany Home Road. On the second anniversary of his death, family and friends held a vigil to honor his memory. The gathering was described as a "small but mighty" event, where those close to him reaffirmed their call for justice, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.

David Denogean’s family is still waiting for answers after he was shot while walking his dog. His father, Frank, said in a 2023 interview, “We know that David was walking his dog, leisurely, not in a hurry to get away from anybody and this guy shows up and changes our lives forever.” Despite surveillance footage showing the suspect, the case has made little progress. Frank added, “I'd be lying to you if I told you that there was any progress because we never hear anything, and that is very disheartening for us as a family,” as stated by FOX 10 Phoenix

The family received some hope when Frank Denogean announced the birth of his grandson. "Today, our son Daniel and his wife gave birth to their second child and it was a boy, and named him after David," Frank said. The investigation into David's death is still ongoing, and Silent Witness is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to an arrest. Frank added, "It’s not going to bring our son back but just the feeling of knowing that this person can’t do this to somebody else is the only justice we’ll ever get," according to 12 News and FOX 10 Phoenix.
