The streets of Central Phoenix became the latest backdrop for a shooting incident that left two men hospitalized and the Phoenix police on an ardent search for the suspect. The events unfolded on Wednesday evening in the area of 26th and Oak streets, just north of McDowell Road, with the first reports coming in around 5:45 p.m., AZ Family reported.
Upon their arrival at the scene, officers discovered the injured men, both sustaining gunshot wounds. The Phoenix police disclosed that while one man is wrestling with life-threatening injuries, the other's wounds were serious, but not life-threatening. Despite the heavy police presence marked by at least 10 patrol SUVs and sections cordoned off with crime scene tape, as per AZ Family, the suspect still remains at large, and the investigation by detectives is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the vicinity of 24th Street and McDowell Road where the incident took place was cordoned off. Evidence of the investigation's intensity was the focus on a particular home, with police tape blocking access to adjacent residences. Detectives remained on the scene, examining and scouring for clues that could shed light on the night's violence, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.
