
The Arizona Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee has announced the 2025 honorees for the AZMLK Awards for Excellence in Service. These awards recognize individuals, organizations, and businesses dedicated to advancing Dr. King's vision through outstanding service in the Phoenix area, according to the City of Phoenix.
Among the accolades is the Calvin C. Goode Lifetime Achievement Award, which this year honors Mr. George Flores and the late Mrs. Vernell Myers Coleman. The Living The Dream Award has multiple recipients - Mrs. Juan Te Daily, Mr. Jerry McPherson, Ms. Deva Mumphrey, Dr. Samariah Jenohn Riggins, DPT, and Mrs. Donna Williams, Esq. The committee has chosen to notably recognize high school students Miss Loren Jones and Mr. John Davis with the Dr. Gene C. Blue Beacon Award, as reported by the City of Phoenix.
Finalists for the AZMLK Corporate Partner Award include He”ART”sy, Salt River Project, and the Zeta Tau Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc., all of which have made significant community contributions. The honorees will be recognized at the 39th Annual AZMLK Awards Breakfast on January 17, 2025.
