According to ABC15, this 70s airplane-inspired cocktail lounge inside Wren & Wolf is set for takeoff on November 15. Theodore Myers, the man behind the venture, promises an interactive escapade where guests embark through a jet bridge, mirroring the authentic experience of flight—minus the turbulence.
Spearheading the drink menu is Jax Donahue, a noted mixologist who has been a prominent figure in the local beverage scene, "We’re so excited for Jax to join the Pretty Decent Concepts team and help bring the 'Carry On' project to life," Myers shared in a news release. Reservations are akin to booking an actual flight ticket; patrons secure a spot on this nostalgic journey, complete with a welcome cocktail and snack. However, the rest of the drinks from the innovative menu is an additional cost. The theme extends to the flavors as well, with the first destination set to Mexico City, aiming to infuse its rich profile into the offerings.
In a parallel update by Phoenix New Times, enthusiasts have been eagerly awaiting this opening, which had been postponed several times since last year. The anticipation was further fueled by Pretty Decent Concepts, parent group to Carry On, announcing other upcoming projects, including three new concepts at the Arizona Center. Donahue, previously of Barter & Shake Cocktail Entertainment, told Phoenix New Times that patrons could expect twenty inventive cocktails drawing inspiration from the retro style that Carry On embodies.
To ensure a boarding pass for this time-traveling cocktail experience, would-be guests are encouraged to visit Carry On's website for early access to reservations before they go public. The invitation extends, "We look forward to having you aboard soon," signaling a first-class journey into the bygone era of air travel through a modern drinking lens. Carry On is located at 2 N.
