The Pima County Department of Environmental Quality (PDEQ) has released a draft of their Public Participation Plan, designed to enhance public engagement and ensure adherence to civil rights legislation in its operations. Alongside the primary plan, the PDEQ is also seeking feedback on two related documents, the Disability Access Plan and the Language Access Plan.

Public comments opened on November 14, 2024, and will continue to be accepted through December 16, 2024. Community members are encouraged to review and provide their insights, ensuring a collaborative, inclusive process. Citizens can access the documents for review on the Public Participation Project webpage, compatible with reader accessibility software and equipped for language translation.

Hard copies are available upon request and can also be found at local Pima County Libraries and the PDEQ downtown office. In efforts to accommodate all community members, PDEQ is making sure that information is widely accessible.

For residents who may have further questions regarding the plans or the feedback process, PDEQ’s Civil Rights Coordinator can be contacted via email at [email protected], or by phone at 520-724-7400. Additionally, individuals can visit or send correspondence directly to the PDEQ office located at 33 N. Stone Ave, 7th Floor, Tucson, Arizona, 85701.
