In a grim development following a late-night violent incident, a 53-year-old man has been reported dead after a shooting outside a local establishment in Reading. The Hamilton County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as Paul W. Montgomery Jr. WLWT notes that Montgomery was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest in the parking lot of The Lounge, located on Reading Road.
As the night desperately tried to hold on to tranquility, chaos erupted near the intersection of Sunnybrook Drive. Montgomery was rushed to the UC Medical Center shortly before midnight last Friday, where life slipped away, and he was pronounced dead. Local12 reports that the shooting is believed to have taken place later last Friday night, with the authorities seeking to piece together the events that led to this fatal encounter.
Reading police, left to grapple with the scant clues in a seemingly senseless act, have not yet named any suspects nor divulged what may have prompted the violent outburst. It was just before 11:30 p.m. when officers arrived at the scene, according to a statement obtained by FOX19, facing the grim reality of a life violently disrupted. The response from Reading EMS was swift, yet not enough to reverse the course of destiny that night.
