
A car crash this morning involving a tractor-trailer and a passenger car closed a stretch of Route 222 in Lancaster County, resulting in multiple injuries. Local21News reported the incident around 4:25 a.m. near Dry Tavern Road on Route 222 South at the Adamstown exit. The collision forced all southbound lanes to shut down temporarily, and two individuals were hospitalized with injuries of an undisclosed severity.
The aftermath of the accident included a flipped tractor-trailer, which had been transporting honey, and a mangled car. Photos from the scene illustrated the gravity of the crash, with emergency crews working diligently to clean up the honey spill and debris. As reported by WGAL, Route 222 Southbound remained closed for several hours following the incident.
Pennsylvania State Police have led the investigation into the causes of the collision. While the current status of those hospitalized remains uncertain, the road has since been reopened for travel.
