A tragic accident struck near Santa Clara University when a vehicle collided with a pedestrian yesterday, causing fatal injuries. The Santa Clara Police Department (SCPD) reported responding to the scene at approximately 11:58 AM at the intersection of El Camino Real and Accolti Way, where they found an injured male pedestrian on the ground. Authorities have identified the victim as an 18-year-old resident and student at Santa Clara University.

Immediately upon arrival, Santa Clara Fire Department (SCFD) personnel administered first aid and performed life-saving measures to save the young man's life. He was promptly transported to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries. The vehicle driver was present when officers arrived and cooperated with the investigation. The collision occurred as the driver was heading southbound on El Camino Real just before the accident site. At this point in the ongoing investigation, the collision appears to be an isolated event involving no other vehicles.
