Concerns for Young's safety were significant due to his medical condition, which may impair his ability to return safely without assistance. He was last spotted on November 4 on Lebanon Pike, as reported by WSMV. Young is described as being 5′9″ with brown eyes and black hair and may have been driving a silver Kia Soul with TN tag BNB-7449 when he went missing.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation took to social media to accelerate the search, urging the public to help locate Young. They posted a detailed description of him and his vehicle to aid in identification through their campaign using #TNSilverAlert. "We need your help to find Sammie Young, Jr., who is missing from Murfreesboro," the TBI stated. They encouraged anyone with information to call 1-800-TBI-FIND.
