
In an unfortunate turn of events, a family gathering during Thanksgiving ended in tragedy when a father fatally shot his adult son in Cave Creek, Arizona. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) responded to a shooting call on the evening of the holiday, with the incident occurring near the intersection of 54th Street and Azure Hills Drive, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.
Upon their arrival, deputies discovered that a domestic dispute had escalated to fatal violence. The victim, identified as 53-year-old Brett Walton, was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooter, reportedly the victim's 80-year-old father, was present but not immediately taken into custody. As per FOX 10 Phoenix, "At this time, no one has been arrested. This case is actively being investigated by the Homicide Unit," read a portion of their statement.
The MCSO has not yet disclosed the details leading up to the shooting or potential motives. Neither has information been provided on whether the father will face any charges concerning the death of his son.
